TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Voters heading out in Tallahassee on Tuesday should plan for a warm, breezy day with a chance of getting wet, though not everyone will see rain.
The National Weather Service puts the odds of showers at 40 percent for the day, mostly between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Skies should be partly sunny, with a high near 84 degrees and an east-southeast wind of 10 to 15 mph. Local forecasters expect gusts up to 20 mph at times and say the showers will be scattered, missing many neighborhoods altogether.
Tuesday night looks mostly quiet. The weather service gives a 30 percent chance of a shower, mainly before midnight, under mostly cloudy skies, with a low around 69.
The next weather system arrives midweek. A cold front moving through the region will keep moisture high and bring another round of scattered downpours and a few thunderstorms Wednesday, but severe weather is not expected. Wednesday’s high should be near 81, and the weather service puts the shower chance at 30 percent, mostly after 1 p.m.
Thursday stays warm, with the weather service calling for a high near 83 and a 30 percent chance of afternoon showers, then a low around 66 that night. Friday brings only a few stray showers, with most of the area dry and partly cloudy, highs from the upper 70s to low 80s and lows in the mid 50s.
Relief from the warmth comes by the weekend. Cooler, drier air is expected to settle in, with Saturday and Sunday highs in the mid to upper 70s and plenty of sun. Overnight lows could drop into the upper 40s in many spots by Sunday night.
