The schedule includes a Civil War Commemorative Service at the Old City Cemetery at 10 a.m., church bells ringing for two minutes at 11 a.m. to mark the occasion, and a dramatic reading of the Emancipation Proclamation at the Knott House Museum at 11:30 a.m. Following this reading, attendees can enjoy a free lunch and activities in Lewis Park. Museums in the area will also be open from 2 to 4 p.m. for the Emancipation celebration, offering free tours and activity options.

Additionally, a fundraiser for the Friends of Lake Munson will take place on May 17, featuring music, a silent auction, and food trucks. Various music events are scheduled throughout the weekend at Blue Tavern and other local venues, ensuring residents have plenty of options for entertainment.
