In the heart of Tallahassee, the excitement is palpable as the Tallahassee Scientific Society launches its 14th annual HORIZONS speaker series this January 2025. This series is all about putting the spotlight on science and technology, and what better way to kick things off than with a celebratory Gold Medal award ceremony?
On January 23, 2025, the society honored Associate Professor Jonathan Dennis, a molecular biologist and Biology instructor from Florida State University, with this year’s prestigious Gold Medal. This award shines a light on the hard work and dedication of local scientists and STEM educators who are truly making a difference through outreach efforts in the community. Professor Dennis has contributed significantly to his field and the local community, making him a worthy recipient of this honor.
The HORIZONS speaker series isn’t just about the opening ceremony; it promises a lineup of intriguing presentations running from February to May 2025.
