Tallahassee is set to celebrate Independence Day with the ‘Celebrate America’ event at Tom Brown Park featuring live music, fireworks, and activities for families. The festivities include performances from local bands, food trucks, and free shuttle services to accommodate attendees. Additional celebrations will take place in SouthWood, Cascades Park, and other nearby locations, ensuring families can enjoy a day full of events leading up to the fireworks displays.

Tallahassee is gearing up for a grand celebration of Independence Day with the “Celebrate America” event at Tom Brown Park, scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. on July 4. Attendees can look forward to a captivating fireworks display starting at 9:50 p.m., courtesy of the City of Tallahassee Utilities.

The evening will feature live performances from multiple bands, including the School of Arts & Sciences rock band from 6:15 to 7 p.m., followed by Eleven O Five band, and concluding with The Funky Taters featuring Lili Forbes from 8:20 to 9:45 p.m. Food options will include various food trucks, and there will be activities geared towards children, making it an enjoyable experience for families. Guests may also bring their own picnics, while beer will be available for purchase to those aged 21 and over with valid identification.

Due to limited parking at Tom Brown Park, StarMetro will offer a free shuttle service. To facilitate the event setup, traffic on Conner Blvd. will be restricted beginning at noon on July 4, and participants are advised to arrive early. The festivities may experience delays or cancellations if adverse weather conditions occur.

In addition to the main event at Tom Brown Park, the SouthWood July 4th event will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with parking available at SouthWood Town Center and Southwood Golf Club. Highlights of this celebration include a Resident Parade at 5:30 p.m., a Flag Raising Ceremony at 6:15 p.m., and a musical performance by Dennis Prescott at 6:30 p.m. The Rockitz band will take the stage from 7 to 9 p.m., with fireworks scheduled to begin at 9 p.m., rounding out the night. Attendees can also enjoy seven food trucks and various games, with wristbands required for activities.

The day will start early with the 42nd Annual Firecracker 5K Race and 1-Mile Sparkler Run hosted by the Capital City Kiwanis Club at Cascades Park, beginning at 7 a.m. on July 4. Other local celebrations include the Eastpoint Freedom Festival featuring fireworks at dark-thirty on July 1, and Apalachicola’s Waterfront July 3rd Celebration that will include food vendors, music, and fireworks on July 3.

Fireworks displays are also planned for Shell Point Beach and St. George Island on July 4, while Carrabelle will host its fireworks extravaganza on July 5, accompanied by music and food along the waterfront. Sopchoppy’s parade will commence at 10 a.m. on July 4, followed by festivities at Myron B. Hodge Park.
