News Summary

Kool Beanz Cafe in Tallahassee introduces their new pastry chef, Stefania Martucci, who brings innovative dessert creations. With a rich culinary background, she’s set to impress locals with her unique flavors and exceptional pastries that are sure to tantalize taste buds.

Tallahassee Welcomes a New Pastry Pioneer!

Tallahassee food lovers, it’s time to tickle your taste buds! The beloved Kool Beanz Cafe has made waves with its latest sweet addition: Stefania Martucci! This fantastic pastry chef officially began her culinary journey with the cafe during the week of February 17, and fans are already buzzing with excitement.

A Fresh Take on Dessert

Martucci steps into the kitchen as a shiny new talent, taking over from the incredibly talented chef Sylvia Gould, who decided to explore new opportunities in January. While taking on such a role can be daunting, Martucci is stepping up to the plate with a sense of honor and respect for Gould’s impressive dessert creations.

Chef and owner of Kool Beanz Cafe, Keith Baxter, recognized Martucci’s prodigious skills right off the bat. In fact, he remarked that she “knocked the ball out of the park” during her trial run! Talk about a sweet start!

Creative Freedom Awaits!

One of the most exciting aspects of this new position for Martucci is the level of *creative freedom* she has to craft unique and delightful desserts. Unlike a boxed mix, her ambitions for culinary innovation are boundless! Customers, get ready to indulge in some truly *exceptional* treats.

Let’s take a peek at what’s currently on her dessert menu this week:

  • Mango-pistachio tartlet: With a heavenly combination of a pistachio cookie, mango-passion fruit confit, and rich pistachio crémeux, this dessert is already a showstopper.
  • Moroccan-style almond cake: These delicate flavors transport you straight to the markets of Marrakech.
  • Yogurt and white chocolate mousse: A luscious blend that’s light yet indulgent.
  • Coffee-licorice mousse cake: A bold pairing sure to impress coffee lovers and licorice fans alike!

And that’s not all! Martucci is already cooking up plans for a decadent chocolate cake featuring pears poached in port wine, complemented by a dusting of cinnamon cream. Can you say *mouthwatering*?

A Rich Culinary Background

Martucci’s culinary journey is as rich as the desserts she’s crafting. She honed her skills at a prestigious pastry academy in her hometown of Turin, Italy. Her experience also includes a year as an assistant gelato maker, giving her a proficiency in frozen delights. You may even find *homemade gelato* garnishing her delectable desserts in the near future!

Before making the move to Tallahassee, she spent three summers as a pastry chef at an Italian eatery located in Ibiza, Spain. Talk about a dreamy working environment for a pastry lover!

Life Changes and New Beginnings

Martucci made the move to Tallahassee in 2021, following her husband, who is a professor at FSU. The decision to take this leap was made after their daughter graduated high school, marking a big turning point in the family’s life.

In her new home town, she has already started to make waves by selling her incredible pastries and savory dishes at local farmers’ markets and even through her website, Smartucci.

Providing both delectable and visually stunning delicacies, Martucci describes the process of creating pastries as “magical.” With her enthusiasm and passion for dessert-making, Kool Beanz Cafe is certainly in for a *sugar rush*!

Sweet Times Ahead

So, Tallahassee, are you ready for some *seriously delicious* desserts? With Stefania Martucci leading the way at Kool Beanz Cafe, it looks like we’re all in for a treat. Make sure to swing by and savor her sweet creations—it seems this pastry chef is just getting started on her sugary journey in the Capital City!
