Tragically, at least one person has been confirmed dead due to this incident, with the body of a woman found amidst the wreckage during a search by rescue teams. Additionally, two women aged 82 and 62 were injured. They were rushed to local hospitals, where one remains in critical condition while the other is reported as stable. Notably, one of the injured women has been identified as a city employee in the office of the Philadelphia City Council President.
The explosion caused significant structural damage, leading to the partial collapse of three row houses and affecting at least seven properties in total.
