Tallahassee, FL – The 2024-2025 school year is wrapping up this week, culminating in a series of graduation ceremonies for Leon County Schools to honor over 2,000 graduates from the Class of 2025. The graduation schedule has been announced, with ceremonies set to occur at different times and locations throughout the day. Key highlights of the schedule include:

  • 6 p.m. – Tallahassee Collegiate Academy at Performing Art Center, Tallahassee State College
  • 7 p.m. – Gretchen Everhart at Generations Church

In addition to the ceremonies, a print edition of the graduation listings will be available on Sunday, May 18, featuring the names of graduates, valedictorians, and salutatorians from participating schools. Each class will recognize its academic leaders during the ceremonies, as they deliver speeches to commemorate this important milestone.

With a large number of graduates and their families expected to attend, the Tucker Civic Center will open doors one hour prior to each event. Seating for guests will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure seats and enjoy concessions that will be provided, though only debit and credit cards will be accepted for purchases.

As part of the safety regulations at the venue, metal detectors and bag checks will be implemented at the entrances to ensure a secure environment for all attendees. Specific prohibited items will be outlined in accordance with the Tucker Civic Center regulations, aimed at maintaining a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

In an effort to engage with the graduates, Leon County School Superintendent Rocky Hanna will participate in the ceremonies by taking selfies with each graduating class. He encourages students to consider pursuing higher education as they move forward from high school.

As part of the celebration, an online gallery will be created featuring almost 200 photos capturing the memorable moments from the graduation ceremonies, which will be made available to the public shortly after the events conclude.

These graduation ceremonies represent a significant achievement not only for the students but also for families and the community. Each graduate embodies years of hard work and dedication, marking the close of their high school journey as they prepare for new opportunities ahead.
