Tallahassee Ramps Up Holiday Cheer with Festive Events

As Christmas approaches, the spirit of the season is alive in Tallahassee, with a variety of events planned to entertain locals and visitors alike. Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra: Handel’s Messiah

On Friday, December 13, and Sunday, December 15, the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra will perform the holiday classic, Handel’s Messiah. The shows will take place at Trinity United Methodist Church, located at 120 West Park Avenue. Performance times are from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Sunday. The event features talented vocalists including Jessica Beebe, Kristen Dubenion-Smith, Eric Rieger, and Corey McKern, under the direction of conductor Michael Hanawalt. Tickets are priced between $28 and $44, and can be purchased through the symphony’s website.

Cirque de Noel: Holiday Magic

Following that, the symphony invites you to their fourth annual Cirque de Noel performance on Saturday, December 14, at the Ruby Diamond Concert Hall, located at 222 S Copeland St. Showtimes are 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This show promises a thrilling mix of aerial acts and holiday music, with tickets ranging from $35 to $64.

Last Chance Holiday Market

Also on Saturday, December 14, families can enjoy Just One More, the final Downtown market of the year. Running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ponce De Leon Park and Bloxham Park, this market features live music, food trucks, and over 60 local artisans, farmers, and bakers—perfect for finding that last-minute gift.

Living Christmas Story Experience

On December 13-15, the Killearn United Methodist Church will present the Living Christmas Story. Visitors can experience a drive-through reenactment of the nativity scene. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. each evening; attendees are advised to arrive early due to high interest.

Musical Celebrations at Lofty Pursuits

In a festive atmosphere, Lofty Pursuits celebrates its 14th community musical event, A Very Lofty Christmas, on Saturday, December 14, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at their location (1355 Market St). This family-friendly event will feature 70 local musicians celebrating the holiday spirit and a visit from Santa.

Victorian Christmas in Thomasville

Just a short drive from Tallahassee, Thomasville, Georgia, is hosting the 38th Annual Victorian Christmas on the evenings of December 12-13. This event includes carriage rides, holiday shopping, and plenty of festive entertainment.

Cascades Park Holiday Stroll

Concluding the weekend, Cascades Park will host its annual Holiday Stroll on Sunday, December 15, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. About a dozen acts will perform along the park’s beautiful trails, and free hot cocoa will be served, making for a delightful evening.
