Tallahassee, FL – HCA Florida Capital Hospital has officially appointed Ryan LaMura as its new chief operating officer, effective immediately. The announcement was made on August 19, 2025, marking a significant leadership change at the hospital following the departure of former CEO Chris Mosley.

Dale Neely, the newly appointed CEO of HCA Florida Capital Hospital, expressed confidence in LaMura’s capabilities, highlighting his extensive experience in healthcare leadership and operational excellence. LaMura’s prior role was as vice president of operations at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital, where he made contributions across various departments, including Interventional Radiology, Diagnostic Radiology, and Respiratory Therapy.

LaMura’s experience also extends to serving as a co-ethics and compliance officer at Ocala Hospital, where he was involved in hospital contract administration. His career in healthcare administration initiated at Wellstar Health System, specifically at Kennestone Regional Medical Center located in Marietta, Georgia. At Kennestone, LaMura completed his administrative residency and developed his expertise through multiple roles within the system.

In addition to his practical experience, LaMura holds an advanced Master of Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and bioethics from the University of Virginia.

The leadership transition comes in the wake of Chris Mosley’s departure, which took effect on February 21, 2025. Mosley stepped down from the CEO role after less than two years. Although the hospital’s spokesperson, Rachel Stiles, confirmed his exit, specific reasons were not disclosed. Prior to his tenure at HCA Florida Capital, Mosley was the CEO at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center in Georgia.

In the interim, Dale Neely has returned to the helm of HCA Florida Capital Hospital after previously serving as COO from 2007 to 2012. As the new CEO, Neely will supervise the operations of the 288-bed acute care hospital, along with its outpatient centers and freestanding emergency rooms located in Leon and Gadsden counties. Neely brings to the position over 20 years of healthcare leadership experience and has a background that includes leadership roles at various healthcare facilities, focusing on strategic growth and ethics compliance initiatives.

During his previous tenure, Neely led a successful $20 million expansion at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Tallahassee, showcasing his commitment to enhancing patient care services. Neely holds a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Tennessee and an MBA from Vanderbilt University.

In light of these changes, Brian Cook, President of HCA Healthcare, recognized Neely’s established track record in operational excellence and commitment to patient care innovation. With LaMura and Neely at the forefront, HCA Florida Capital Hospital is strategically positioned to continue providing quality healthcare services to the community it serves.

The leadership restructuring is a critical moment for HCA Florida Capital Hospital as it aims to maintain its standards of operational excellence and patient-centered care amidst evolving healthcare challenges and needs. The announcements have generated anticipation about the forthcoming strategic directions that the hospital will undertake under the new leadership.
