Sponsor Our ArticlesChris Addison, a promising three-star edge prospect from Louisiana, is visiting Florida State University for an official tour. Recognized for his impressive 6-foot-3, 250-pound stature, Addison is a key target for the Seminoles’ defense. Previously exploring other universities, he recently prioritized FSU, where he aims to learn about the coaching strategies from notable staff. As the Seminoles host several recruits, this visit is crucial for both Addison and the football program’s recruitment efforts as they seek top talent in a competitive landscape.
Addison has previously explored other university options, having taken official visits to schools such as Arizona State, Michigan State, and UCLA. This weekend, he had also been scheduled to visit Tulane but opted for an official trip to FSU. Addison recently outlined his top five preferred institutions, which include Florida State, UCLA, Michigan State, Arizona State, and Tulane. He had an unofficial visit to FSU in late March, where he expressed an admiration for the institution and its coaching staff.
During his previous visit, Addison paid close attention to the defensive line coach, Terrance Knighton, who is noted for his effective coaching methods that engage both new recruits and experienced players alike. He interacted with the area recruiter David Johnson, as well as defensive coordinator Tony White, and learned about FSU’s plans to utilize him primarily at the Jack position, a strategic role in the defense.
In his junior year at Franklin Parish High School, Addison demonstrated exceptional skills on the field. He completed the season with 63 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. His physical attributes include elite arm length, which is a crucial characteristic desired for the Seminoles’ defensive front. According to 247Sports.com, he is currently ranked as the No. 40 edge prospect in the 2026 class.
Florida State concludes its active June recruiting period with Addison’s visit, coinciding with the upcoming NCAA dead period that starts on Monday. The Seminoles are concurrently hosting a total of 11 official visitors this weekend, which includes both committed recruits and other notable prospects. Among them is five-star linebacker Xavier Griffin, who adds to the caliber of talent being showcased.
As of now, there are no specific predictions regarding Addison’s commitment found on the 247Sports.com Crystal Ball. Additionally, FSU’s 2026 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 12 nationally and has secured seven verbal commitments to date. The outcomes of this recruitment cycle may heavily influence the team’s competitive prospects moving forward.
Chris Addison’s official visit to Florida State University this weekend highlights the critical phase of recruitment for the football program as they seek to bolster their lineup with promising talent. The anticipation around his decision reflects the ongoing efforts of the Seminoles to secure top prospects in a highly competitive recruiting landscape.
