The incident occurred around 6:18 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and Port Leon Drive when a sedan traveling northbound failed to yield the right of way, leading to a T-bone collision with a westbound pickup truck towing a boat trailer.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the driver of the sedan, a resident of Crawfordville, was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital following the crash but was later pronounced dead. The young girl, who was also a passenger in the sedan, was pronounced dead at the scene. Both were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

The pickup truck involved in the crash was occupied by a 36-year-old man from Crawfordville, a 34-year-old man from Tallahassee, and two children, aged 13 and 2. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the occupants of the truck.

The next of kin have been notified about the tragic loss, and the FHP, with assistance from the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office, Wakulla County Fire Rescue, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
