Major Construction Milestone Approved in Jacksonville

Jacksonville, FL – A wave of construction projects received approval last week, with total work valued at approximately $101.3 million authorized through 750 permits for the week ending December 15, 2024. These projects are poised to expand industrial and retail infrastructure in the area, responding to growing demand and economic development opportunities.

Key Projects and Developments

Among the standout projects is the Florida Gateway Logistics Park, which is now set to enter its second phase of construction. The permits for two shell buildings were issued to Evans General Contractors for a combined value of $44.3 million. Building four will span 647,276 square feet, while building six will cover 179,200 square feet. Located at 9909 Pritchard Road, this industrial park is already home to significant tenants such as Total Distribution Inc. and IPEX.

In the healthcare sector, Jacksonville’s third Florida Blue Sanitas Medical Center has been approved for a build-out at 8102 Blanding Blvd., situated within Crossroad Square shopping center. This $2.15 million expansion will create a 5,500-square-foot facility featuring six exam rooms, aimed at serving the surrounding community.

Hawkins Construction of Tarpon Springs is overseeing this development, which complements the recently permitted $14 million Publix.
