TALLAHASSEE – Recent incidents of sexual assault in Tallahassee have raised significant concerns within the community, particularly following multiple attacks in the span of a week. Authorities are urging residents to stay vigilant as they work to address safety issues.

On September 11, 2025, a sexual battery incident was reported in the 1400 block of Market Street in northeast Tallahassee around 9:00 p.m. The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) indicated that at the time of reporting, this was the only official information available. In a swift response, a suspect was arrested on the afternoon of September 12. Just hours after the incident, Market District TLH, a local business association, confirmed that a break-in and assault occurred and subsequently informed the TPD at approximately 8:30 PM the same day. Despite the severity of the incidents, Market District TLH reassured the community by stating that such occurrences are rare, and they are collaborating with TPD to enhance safety measures.

In the days that followed, the community was further shaken by a stabbing that took place at Cascades Park. Chadric Boone, 38, was arrested on September 17 and is facing serious charges, including robbery with a weapon and sexual battery against an adult. The incident reportedly occurred near Palace Saloon in the College Town area around 2 a.m., where a victim claimed she was assaulted while walking home. It is alleged that Boone threatened the victim with a weapon, stole her phone, and fled in a white BMW. Police were able to track Boone’s vehicle using a partial license plate number.

Boone’s first court appearance is scheduled for February 3, during which he may hire legal representation. His case is igniting discussions around community safety measures as the area grapples with escalating violence.

In a separate case that has alarmed residents, Hunter Eubanks, 30, was arrested by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office on charges of sexually assaulting a minor, alongside other serious offenses related to multiple sexual acts committed against a 16-year-old on church grounds. Eubanks, who worked as a church employee, was the subject of an investigation since October 9, 2024, before authorities issued a warrant for his arrest. As of September 18, references to Eubanks have been removed from Morningside Church’s leadership web page, where he had served as a worship leader since April 2020. The charges against him include cruelty towards a child, use of a computer to lure a child, and obscene communication, which further highlights community fears surrounding safety and the protection of vulnerable individuals.

In light of these incidents, local organizations and law enforcement are advocating for increased awareness and safety precautions among residents. The Market District Association emphasized the importance of being aware of one’s surroundings, urging community members to take precautionary steps as authorities work to enhance safety protocols.

As these disturbing events continue to unfold, both TPD and local community associations are committed to addressing safety concerns and supporting victims of sexual assault. The community remains on high alert as it seeks to restore a sense of security in the wake of these alarming incidents.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed and engaged in discussions about community safety, ensuring proactive measures are implemented to prevent future occurrences. It is vital for individuals to report any suspicious activities, as collaboration between the community and law enforcement is key to maintaining a safe environment for all.
