Tallahassee’s Vino Beano Announces Closure After Three Years of Service

Vino Beano Closure: Tallahassee's Beloved Venue Shuts Down

Tallahassee’s Beloved Vino Beano to Close After Three Years

In a bittersweet turn of events, the popular coffee and wine bar, Vino Beano, located in Midtown Tallahassee, announced its permanent closure effective December 21. The establishment, which operated as a café during the day and transitioned into a lounge at night, shared this news on its Facebook page, leaving patrons heartbroken.

Who and What

Vino Beano catered to a vibrant demographic, primarily adults aged 25 to 46, providing a unique mix of coffee, wine, beer, cocktails, and food. The bar’s menu featured a variety of offerings including salads, sandwiches, bagels, avocado toast, and even hemp products. Patrons enjoyed a selection of alcoholic beverages such as IPAs, ports, champagne, and Italian wines on tap.

Where and When

The coffee and wine bar was located at 1309 Thomasville Road, a space owned by Justin Ghazvini, who is also a commercial development specialist with Premier Commercial Group. The closure will officially take place at the end of this week, with the last day of service scheduled for December 21.

Why the Closure?

Owner Pat Ghazvini expressed that the decision to close was not made lightly. “This decision was not an easy one to make for our ownership & investors, but there are new plans for this space—and that means our time has come,” he stated in the announcement. Recent challenges had also impacted operations, including a brief closure due to a December 5 inspection that revealed two high-priority violations related to the beer and wine taps and food licensing.

Community Reaction and Farewell Events

As word of the closure spread, many loyal customers took to social media to express their disappointment. Comments such as “I’m really sad to hear Vino Beano is closing its doors. It’s a cultural gem in Tallahassee music/art scene… thank you for all that you’ve done for the community!” reflect the establishment’s significance to the local community.

In a bid to commemorate its legacy, Vino Beano will host a series of farewell events starting from Tuesday. These events will include activities like wine bingo and musical nights, aiming to provide a fitting send-off to a place that has been a hub for coffee, wine, and social interaction.

The Future of the Space

While the current establishment is closing, plans for the future of the space have not been detailed. Justin Ghazvini declined to comment on what might replace Vino Beano. However, the anticipation builds around the potential developments that may soon occupy this beloved location.

A Final Goodbye

As the community prepares to bid farewell to Vino Beano, its three-year run as a celebrated dining and entertainment hub will surely be missed. The bar’s unique atmosphere and diverse offerings made it a special place for locals, and its cultural impact on Tallahassee will not be forgotten.
