TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A bakery cafe, a dental office and a tanning salon are lined up for the Northside Shoppes development in northeast Tallahassee, with openings expected next year if building work stays on pace.

Paris Baguette, Heartland Dental and Zoom Tan are the three tenants named for the project at 2901 Kerry Forest Parkway. Paris Baguette, a bakery chain that began in Seoul, South Korea, will take a 3,200-square-foot space with patio seating outside. It will not have a drive-through. The cafe is going on a cleared parcel on Thomasville Road, sitting between Velda Dairy and Kerry Forest.

Heartland Dental supports more than 1,800 dentists in over 38 states, and Zoom Tan runs more than 120 salons in five states, including Florida.

Permits are in hand for two buildings that will hold the new businesses, out of five to seven buildings planned on the site. A partner with the developer said construction could start after Thanksgiving, with buildings handed to tenants next summer and openings roughly a year away, though he called that a best guess.

The leasing broker markets the center as retail space and drive-through pads across Thomasville Road from Ox Bottom Meadows, on a corridor that carries about 50,000 vehicles a day. A self storage company with national reach bought one of the buildings, and a second building has no space left to lease.

Plans also show a proposed gas station pad on the corner, and about 300 apartment units are planned across the street, which would bring more nearby customers and more cars to the busy stretch around the new shops. Other parts of the center remain open for lease, including small drive-through pads.
